Gin Flavours Review Page

A few years ago we discovered some different flavours of gin. DH likes the normal juniper one, but I started on the pink ones and then found some other flavours. We don't usually have it with tonic, we have it "Tom Collins" style with lemonade. I don't like the quinine in tonic water anyway. The berry or citrus ones are particularly nice with a Calippo citrus pop added instead of ice - we really miss the frozen cocktails which were available a few years ago, this goes some way towards something similar!

Here are the flavours I have tried:

Greenalls Pink and Gordons Pink.

I think these are berry flavours. I enjoy both of these.

Edinburgh Gin Rhubarb and Ginger Gin Liqueur

This was nice with the ginger flavour but I wasn't sure if I was supposed to drink it with a mixer or as a liqueur. So I drank it with lemonade.

Greenalls Blueberry Gin

Again this is nice, pleasant to drink with lemonade but I don't think I would buy it again, the aroma before drinking is a little butyric.

Aldi The Infusionist Violet Gin

Found it really difficult to pair a mixer with this. Most flavours dominated the delicate violet flavour so I ended up mixing it only with sparkling water.

Sipsmith's Sloe Gin

One of my favourites so far. Rich and fruity. Will definitely buy this again.

Beefeater Blood Orange Gin

This is also lovely. Tangy orange/mandarin flavour, delicious!

Sainsbury's Blackfriar Pomegranate & Rose Gin

I thought I'd like this with its Turkish Delight flavour but after a few glasses it was too sweet for me.
