Memories - June/July 2015

I still have so many notes of memories to write up onto this page. Still more often, I remember again things already here. The pace of life is so fast...but today I wanted to share this...

Ian's Favourite Film Score Composer, James Horner

Today I found out about the untimely death yesterday, June 22nd 2015, of James Horner, the film score composer, who was Ians' favourite composer. He was the composer of, among other scores, "Titanic", "Dad", "A Beautiful Mind", "Star Trek II" and "III", and "Cocoon", to mention a few of my favourites.

Memories of our Berchtesgaden Holiday

I think a lot about our visit to Berchtesgaden as it was very special. Today, 5th July, I decided to have a look through the photos and videos and reminisce. I have spent an enjoyable couple of hours, looking at the photos, going online and finding other peoples' videos of the area on YouTube, listening to some music another person used on their video, and thinking I'd like to go back there, even though there have been more changes, such as the Teehaus ruins were bulldozed in 2006. I'm glad I was there, in 2004, with Ian, to see them. Then I looked more closely at the date we arrived in Berchtesgaden and took those first photos. The date was 5th July, 2004...something I wasn't aware of when I started looking. Also someone's comment under one of the videos: "I'm going, and that's all there is to it." That was just what Ian used to say.
