Jools' Wish List

This list is WHAT I WANT TO EXPERIENCE IN MY LIFETIME, and it came about as a result of reading "Chicken Soup for the Soul". For some of them I also got my inspiration from "101 Things to do before you Die", and 1001 Places to See....etc (you get the idea). But in Chicken Soup for the Soul, is a similar list drawn up by a young boy, who grew up to achieve nearly everything on the list, and who is now in his eighties! What an amazing achievement! I thought, realising how short life actually is, I should make a start on everything I want to do, RIGHT NOW! And I only compiled the list when I was aged forty! I don't know how achievable this list is, probably some of it I can only do if I win the lottery! But a girl can dream, right? The numbers that are missing, I have already done them. They are in a separate list at the bottom! I've also split the list into two, those that require flying somewhere, those that can be achieved by land/sea travel. This year I am going to be fifty, so I'm revisiting my list. I have two friends who were talking, one said, "does getting older worry you?" The other answered, "no, Not getting older would worry me..."

1. Write a book
2. Swim with dolphins
4. Go coast to coast in the USA on Amtrak
5. Visit New York. Eat Deli Noodles see a Broadway show visit the Empire State Building the Statue of Liberty the Chrysler building
7. Visit New England in the Fall! Also Maine Nantucket and Boston - The Freedom Trail - 3 mile city walk
8. Canada: Vancouver Victoria Montreal Fireworks 15th June
9. See polar bears - possibly at Cape Churchill Manitoba Canada
10. Visit Ireland, Dublin
11. Turn up at airport with suitcase and passport and just see where I can go!
15. Return to Athens and Lycabbetos visit Santorini Delphi Epidaurus
16. Drive up the coast road Highway 1 from LA to San Francisco see Monterey and Monterey Bay Aquarium. Also San Diego (inc zoo) and see a film in Mann's Chinese Theatre (LA).
17. Return to Berlin and go in Balloon at Potsdamer Platz.
18. Vienna - communications tower on Danube?
19. Visit Las Vegas and Grand Canyon Arizona. Visit Winslow Standing on the Corner Park
21. Scotland - Kelpies, Culross etc Stirling
22. Learn to play an instrument (keyboard).
23. Go to an Opera.
24. See/hear a classical concert in Prague / Salzburg or similar.
25. See a shuttle launch.
26. Shetland Islands
27. Japan - early April Cherry blossom Kyoto Mount Fuji must go back as was shortened
28. Iceland - Reykjavik
30. Visit Ice hotel Sweden
31. Denmark - Legoland Skagen (Land's End) Museum and Fish Market.
32. See the Northern lights (in any of the above).
33. Finland "Lake District".
34. Italy - Rome Vatican Venice Pisa Tuscany Naples Pompeii

36. Visit every Continent....still to go - South America Antarctica (and see the penguins);

5. Originally I wanted to ride a Jet-Ski on the Hudson River after seeing the film "Hitch". I went on a Jet-Ski near Reading UK (not quite the same I know) and now I no longer want to do this! (I didn't like it!)
6. Visit Niagara Falls - I did this on 1st December 2006
8. (Part of) Visit Toronto go up the CN Tower November 2006
12. Turn up at airport with tickets/passport/cash/credit card/contact lenses/MP3 player/camera and one change of underwear! I'm calling this done. Went to Belfast November 2021 with 1 rucksack & tiny handbag inside.
13. See the Angel of the North - I did this in July 2015
14. Go to Ironbridge - I did this in 2007
17. Returned to Berlin, Ferhenstum Tower Sept/October 2019. Just the balloon to do!
20. Go to Bakewell Derbyshire and eat an authentic Bakewell Tart! Done early 2020

29. Visit Alesund Norway. I nearly did this in May 2009 - but in May 2019 10th anniversary WE DID IT AT LAST!!! Did the Fjellstua Viewpoint and climbed 418 steps.
